I have recently had the opportunity to view and discuss the modular concrete building systems that Chameleon Research & Development (Australia) Pty Ltd has developed. From my initial discussions I do believe that, with some further refinement in design and construction processes, this product will have many applications for remote housing, affordable housing and community infrastructure throughout Australia.

This two storey option would also be beneficial in known flood or cyclone risk areas – houses could be built with knowledge that the ground floor could or would be flooded, so when the time came, allow the water to pass through and once this has receded, hose down, bring the furniture back from upstairs and start living in it again. No need to replace walls.
