Trudy McCaul on 15/11/2010 Firstly, I would like to congratulate all involved in this innovative product. It certainly has progressed over the past couple of years.
I would like to add some comments from Mr Graham Poon, Business Consultant (former Austrade Commissioner Manila, Micronesia and NT). Graham has been engaged by the Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry to research international development opportunities within agencies such as the Asia Development Bank, AusAID etc and then to assist individual businesses access these projects. Graham said he could see where the basic design concept of concrete multi modular units would have a wide application in the South Pacific region. Not only for its ability to withstand severe climatic changes such as cyclones, typhoons and floods prone in this region but also for the cost, low maintenance, sustainability and environmental benefits. Another benefit in these regions would be the utilisation of unskilled workers who could be trained to carry out the majority of the work due to the simple construction method using a mobile batching plant and a crane.
